A Collection of Materials from a Roundtable Discussion on “Problems and Prospects for Creating a New European Security System in the Context of Russia’s Aggressive Foreign Policy” Has Been Published
The latest collection of materials from the Institute for Global Politics on the roundtable discussion held at the end of last year can be considered a traditional and important element in a series of such publications, which are of interest primarily to specialists who study and analyze current world events. This time, the theme is “Problems and Prospects for Creating a New European Security System in the Context of Russia’s Aggressive Foreign Policy”. The collection includes speeches by domestic and foreign political experts, current high-ranking officials, military servicemen, representatives of foreign embassies in Ukraine, and others who were invited to the event. Of course, the discussion focused on how this topic is perceived abroad, where attitudes to the Russian-Ukrainian war are ambiguous, which in one way or another affects the processes of building a new system of European security. It is enough to pay attention to the speech of the first participant in the event, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General V. Skibitskyi, which is included in the collection, to understand the subject matter: “Without Ukraine’s participation, it is impossible to create a powerful system of European security”.
The collection contains speeches by twenty participants in the event, including those who joined the discussion of the topic via the Internet. Just for your information, some of them are posted on the Institute’s website.
The collection also includes two articles by the Institute for Global Politics summarizing European security issues: “The New Euro-Atlantic and European Security System and Ukraine’s Place and Role in It” and “How Ukraine Can Guarantee Its Security”. They are directly related to the topic that was raised at the beginning of last year. O. Bereziuk, President of the Institute for Global Politics, reminded the participants of this in his speech.
The collection of speeches is intended for a wide readership, including foreign readers, as it is also published in English.
